Mode of Action:

Blastin is Melanin biosynthesis inhibitor.
Systemic fungicide absorbed rapidly by the roots, with translocation through the plant.

Benefits:

Blastin is used world wide as the most acceptable fungicide for Blast control
Blastin is highly systemic in nature and is not removed by rain water. Rains may actually increase the rate of Blastin absorption.
Blastin does not allow blast disease to enter the rice plant.
Blastin also checks the further development of blast disease to other parts.
Blastin is stable during prolonged storage and dissolves rapidly in water.
Blastin because of its preventive action reduces the chaffy & broken grains and also increases the quality & yield of the rice field.
Multiapplication methods such as flat drench, transplant root soak or foliar applications are possible.

Recommendation:

Application time of Blastin:

For Neck & Panicle Blast Mgmt: Apply Blastin at 5% booting stage or just before the appearance of panicles in the field. It should be applied before panicles and stems are exposed to infection.
For Leaf Blast Mgmt: Apply Blastin at first appearance of disease symptoms. Blastin will provide standard 15-20 days of protection
